Scrabble Documentary Screening This Month

Scrabylon, a feature-length documentary about competitive Scrabble filmed primarily at the 2001 World Scrabble Championships in Las Vegas, will be screened on Thursday, June 5 in Santa Monica, CA and Friday, June 6 in Los Angeles. Further details can be found at the Los Angeles Times web site. Seattle residents can see the film on June 20th at the 911 Media Arts Center.

Another Year, Another Gathering

This year's Gathering of Friends, the invitation-only gaming event run by Alan Moon, was held last week in Columbus, OH. If I was schmooze-focused last year, I was schmoozeariffic this year. Much time was spent player poker, Tichu, and just hanging out with people. I didn't even get to play the two most anticipated games, Amun Re and Eiszeit. The week went very quickly, and I enjoyed relaxing with friends new and old.
