	Searching for Bobby Fischer - [VHS] [DVD] A young boy shows the makings of a chess genius, and is torn between the love of the game exemplified by outdoor speed matches in Washington Square Park and serious competition urged upon him by his father. Fabulously compelling film based on a true story.
	The Seventh Seal - [VHS] [DVD] Ingmar Bergman's allegory of a disillusioned knight returning from the crusades, trying to solve the mysteries of life while playing chess with Death.
	Uncovered - [VHS] While restoring a painting featuring a chess game, a woman discovers a hidden message that leads to murder. She consults a chessmaster to reconstruct the game, but with every piece he takes, someone dies.

Mind Games

	House of Games - [VHS] Seductive con man Joe Mantegna pulls psychologist Lindsay Crouse into an elaborate con game in which she can't be sure where one hustle ends and another begins in this Hitchcockian masterpiece written and directed by David Mamet.

	Gotcha! - [VHS] College student Anthony Edwards is a champion at Gotcha, a live "assassination" game on campus. On summer vacation in East Berlin he falls for spy Linda Fiorentino and finds himself putting his skills to a real-world test.
	Motorama - [VHS] With every $5 purchase from any Chimera gas station comes a Motorama game card. Gus, a 10-year-old kid from a broken home, steals a classic 1965 red mustang and goes on a surreal quest to collect the eight letters he needs to spell Motorama for the multimillion dollar grand prize.

	The Cincinnati Kid - [VHS] Roving card sharks meet for a big poker game in New Orleans, with Steve McQueen facing off against Edward G. Robinson. This film is to poker what The Hustler is to pool.
	Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - [VHS] [DVD] Cockney boys Tom, Soap, Eddie, and Bacon are in a bind; they owe seedy criminal and porn king "Hatchet" Harry a sizable amount of cash after Eddie loses half a million in a rigged game of poker. Hot on their tails is a thug named Big Chris who intends to send them all to the hospital if they don't come up with the cash.
	Maverick - [VHS] [VHS Widescreen] [DVD] Big-screen version of the 60's TV series, with Mel Gibson's Bret Maverick, card shark, joined by James Garner and Jodie Foster for a high-stakes riverboat card game.
	Maverick TV series: According to Hoyle - [VHS] Episode of the original TV series featuring the introduction of Samantha Crawford, upon whom Jodie Foster's cinematic character was based. The outcome of a big poker game hinges on a little-known rule from Hoyle.
	The Music of Chance - [VHS] Mandy Patinkin gives a lift to a fellow (James Spader) stumbling alongside a country road, learns he's a high-stakes poker player, and decides to back him in an upcoming game against two eccentric millionaires in this subtle, existential film.
	Rounders - [VHS] [DVD] Young poker whiz Matt Damon tries to give up the game and focus on being a law student, but when his longtime pal Edward Norton is released from prison, he soon finds himself caught up again in the lure of high-stakes games.

Pool

	The Hustler - [VHS] Disenchanted pool hustler "Fast" Eddie Felson (Paul Newman) challenges the legendary Minnesota Fats (Jackie Gleason) in this classic film.
	The Color of Money - [VHS] [DVD] Paul Newman won an Oscar for this sequel to The Hustler. Fast Eddie finds a younger, greener version of himself in flashy small-time pool hustler Vincent (Tom Cruise) and decides to promote him for another shot at the big time.

Puzzle Hunts

	Midnight Madness - [VHS] Five teams of competing students (jocks, nerds, etc.) race around Los Angeles solving clues in an elaborate, all-night puzzle hunt. This film was the inspiration for many real-life hunts, and features the film debut of Michael J. Fox.
	Scavenger Hunt - [VHS] Fifteen would-be heirs participate in a wild and comic scavenger hunt to win the entire two hundred million dollar estate of the dearly departed.

Role Playing Games

Mazes and Monsters - [VHS] Tom Hanks stars as a college student who loses his grip on reality when he and his friends take their fantasy game into the nearby catacombs.

	Evolver - [VHS] [DVD] A popular virtual-reality video game gets ported to real life, and Kyle, one of the players in the US, plays against a robot version of the arcade game programmed to win at all costs.
	eXistenZ - [VHS] [DVD] Jennifer Jason Leigh is a game designer responsible for the new state-of-the-art eXistenZ game system. While taking the beta version of the game for a test drive she gets trapped in a dangerous alternate reality.
	The Last Starfighter - [VHS] [DVD] A teen videogame ace gets recruited by aliens to become a real starfighter and save their planet from attack.
	Tron - [DVD] Programmer Flynn is digitized and sucked into the ENCOM computer where he must survive digital gladiatorial games and destroy the rogue program that's taken control of the system.
